Everwood, again.

i wrote a nice entry but somehow it got lost. am so pissed. here's tryin to recover it.

it's another sad episode of Everwood today. Amy and Bright learnt of their mom's cancer, and Amy had to receive another terrible piece of bad news that Ephram might be going away to Europe and never coming back. the episode ended with Rose tellin Harold that she cant feel her legs. Chemo has taken a toil on her physically.

the cliff-hanger in the end jus makes me cringe. the recent episodes all have such endings. not in the Lost kinda ending, but in the same way, u want to find out wat happens next to the characters, except in this case there is more emotional involvement for me.

seeing Amy and Ephram makes me fall in love, however painful it might end up.

Joan of Arcadia. today's episode is meaningful. through auditioning for a musical, Joan made a difference to the people around her. she got a few surprises of her own, and one of them is the terrible realisation that Adam and her might be separated when the time comes for them to go to college.

Joan - So more surprises?
Johnny - Oh, yeah. There's always more surprises.
Joan - Yeah.
Adam - Jane. Hey. Hi. It was all falling apart.
Joan - I know. I'm sorry.
Adam - And then it was burning and then, I know, it got foggy, but then when, you know, you sang that song, Jane, that amazing song... (he kisses her) you know what would be the perfect school for us? North Carolina school of the arts. Ok? Y-you can sing, and I'll do art. And... what?

Joan - I don't know if I want to sing.
Adam - Oh. Ok.
Joan - I'm mean if you wanna go there...
Adam - no, no, no, no, no, no. You know, we're picking a place together.

Joan - Adam... are you really gonna be happy if you don't go where you want because of me? We wanna control this because we love each other, but that's-- that's exactly why we shouldn't.
Adam - But if we go to separate places...
Joan - I know. We won't know how things will turn out. Just like tonight, but... tonight turned out to be pretty amazing, and... I want that for you. Don't you want that for me?
Adam - Yeah. It's scary.
Joan - I know. You know, I could never get into Berkeley. And California is just... way too beach boys for me.
Adam - You might like it.
Joan - I'll visit.

in case u're confused, JOA airs Sundays at 4.30pm. it's a very well written show. Joan lives in Arcadia (hence the title). she talks to God. and each week God has an assignment for her. God appears in various forms: from the janitor, to the little girl in the playground, to even the punkiest person in school. and thru these "assignments", Joan changes the "bigger picture" and causes a ripple effect for the good. each week, she learns about faith, more faith, friends, family, life, and herself. the world doesnt jus revolve ard her, and she sees her purpose in this world.

it might sound like some heavily religious stuff, but it's actually not. if u like nerdy talk (last week the geeks were tryin to explain rock-scissor-paper with algrbra, science, psychology, math, and all rolled into 1!), u'll love this witty show.

and then there's Veronica Mars, the best new show on tv now. thou set in a high school, it's surprisingly un-teenagy. in fact, it's wickedly smart, edgy, fun, and witty to the bone. part Nancy Drew without the girly factor, mixed with Sherlock Holmes skills, VM is growwwiing on me. highly addictive.

here's wat it's all about:
In the wealthy, seaside community of Neptune, the rich and powerful make the rules. They own the town and the high school, and desperately try to keep their dirty little secrets just that.secret. Unfortunately for them, there's Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell), a smart, fearless 18-year-old apprentice private investigator dedicated to solving the town's toughest mysteries.

During the day, high-school senior Veronica must negotiate the halls of Neptune High like any average teenage girl, alongside her friends Wallace Fennel (Percy Daggs III) and P.C.H. Bike Club leader Eli "Weevil" Navarro (Francis Capra). By night, Veronica helps with her father Keith's (Enrico Colantoni) private investigator business, sneaking through back alleys and scoping out no-tell motels with a telescopic-lens camera and her math book in an attempt to uncover the California beach town's darkest secrets. And in between, Veronica frequently helps add to her college fund by tackling a variety of problems for desperate classmates.

After discovering that Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) movie star father murdered Lilly Kane, the now-vindicated Mars family finds themselves embroiled in another season-long mystery hitting closer to home, following a new local tragedy. Meanwhile, after a summer of surprises and sordid murder trials, Logan and best friend Duncan Kane(Teddy Dunn) find themselves at odds, while Veronica must deal with her increasingly complicated romantic life and a whole new school year with familiar and surprising fresh faces, including Logan's carousing buddies Dick and Cassidy "Beaver" Casablancas (Ryan Hansen and Kyle Gallner) and Jackie Cook (Tessa Thompson), the fiery, flirty daughter of a professional baseball player.

pardon my indulgence. i jus feel that good tv has to be shared. instead of watching brainless ch8 dramas, watch smthin smart and heartfelt. enjoy.
