infuriating idiots

gosh
i must have been stupid for not knowing that Kino actually sells Chet Lam's books.
Heck i dun even know why that idea never came across my mind.
that was one of the highlights that came out of my totally irrational, impromptu shopping trip.
what started as a short trip to HMV and town, since i haven been there in quite a while, ended up with me spending $72 on books.
yes. out of reckless passion and the lack of money-sense, i bought 3 Chet books.
i didnt even see if there's any newspaper cutout coupon avail these days, or if anyone had the privilege card.
i was merely looking for a book a friend recommended(i got tt too). who knew i wld be so lucky.
no regrets thou. in between tutorial just now, i read a few pages and scanned thru it.
comparing Tsai Chin with Robbie Williams, comparing Spore weather to its locals.
cant wait to read more.

who knew buying and spending could be so liberating. everytime i buy a book it's as if it's screaming at me to read it. but i have so many unread stuff in my room. someone sld really remind me to read more.

and reading a fucking website got me infuriated now. such false pretences and criticism and assumptions. and a fucking FAQ. wth.
idiots.

darling i'm killed

while the rest of the world is raving and addicted to Facebook, i find myself hooked on another cyber-activity: MSN Music in concerts.

yessss. MSN has this incredible range of concerts from indie acts to the international superstars. while waiting for Feist to debut tml, i've caught Maroon 5, Robin Thicke, Paulo Nutini, and John Mayer! John Mayer! its like an orgasm watchin him have his orgasm-face while playin the guitar. waiting in line is Black Rebel Motorcycle club, the bravery, etc etc. thou some gigs r not full-length 2 hr shows, some, like Maroon 5's, has a terrific songlist. i think i need some Sundays to just chill and pig-out on sundaes and McFlurrys with MSN Music.

speaking of Music, i'm currently listening to Mark Ronson's VERSIONS. this dude is the prodigy who produced Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse's latest albums, two of the best selling and most critically acclaimed albums to come out of Britain in the past yr.this latest from MR is an inversion of other singer's songs. tunes like Britney's TOXIC and Coldplay's GOD PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE are given new twists, with saxophone, lotsa beats, and trumpets. definitely a feel-good album tt wld get u goin.

and FEIST's THE REMINDER is also one of the best i've ehard this yr so far. her phrasing is just so teasing to the ear. its a folksy, rather jazzy album to unwind to. go watch MSN tml to know what i mean.

and i got LEO Ku'S MOMENTS already! so exciting.

k. indulgence. ps: rediscovering Matchbox Twenty with their latest album of new songs + greatest hits. LOVE.

就让我走

i am caught in the middle, between Auntie Jenny and my com members and Mrs Terrence.
she is caught between us and her incapable chairperson and passive members.

i am caught between work, and the desire to have personal time.
i am caught, between my thoughts, and the words that come out.

cant wait to catch Cate Blanchett in I'm Not There.

Kumar The Queen

"Singapore: first world country on the outside, third world country on the inside. and the government up our backside."

from his first trademark "AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH" as he descends down tt Elizabethan hanger with tt Queen E corset, i had an idea it was goona be great. caught Kumar the Queen with Quin + Eunice. it's drop dead hilarious itellyou. we got cheap cheap $27 bucks student price. it was eighth-tenth funny, one-tenth being curtain call and one-tenth being costume changes. and itellyou, she changes damn fast! i mean, HE. China. Thailand. India. UK. London. Africa. Brazil. Singapore. damn good figure tt beats everyone else's. dancing in stilettos. gyrating. cannibalism. ganges river. racist jokes. indian movies. tons of MM Lee jokes. no real plot. could have been tighter at points. funny accents. topless guys and sexy girls. lip-sync. lots of dance. lots of smoke. lots of laugh.

lots of laugh.

State of Mind

Words & Music : Chet Lam

I remember you just like your coffee hot
Take no pictures of the things that you ain't got
So softly, so gently
You left me with my beating heart

Unknot my throat I ease my soul with a cold cold beer
Take some time recalling you with some warm warm tears
For someone or something
Never meant to be

Just spread your wings and fly away
and just leave it all behind
When you think of me
Remember I'm your state of mind

take a deep breathe and quit again
and I'll leave it all behind
If I think of you
You're just another state of mind

Doesn't matter where I go or whom I'm with
Makes no difference when you'll be or who you'll see
Close your eyes, make your peace
Down your heart, where I'd be

Bob Dylan - The Times They Are A-changin'

Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone.
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics
Who prophesize with your pen
And keep your eyes wide
The chance won't come again
And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
And there's no tellin' who
That it's namin'.
For the loser now
Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen
Please heed the call
Don't stand in the doorway
Don't block up the hall
For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
There's a battle outside
And it is ragin'.
It'll soon shake your windows
And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn
The curse it is cast
The slow one now
Will later be fast
As the present now
Will later be past
The order is
Rapidly fadin'.
And the first one now
Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.
