random thoughts

this is the first in a series of random thoughts, just like my previous site.

to start with the most random...

my fav pair of slip-ons is fast degrading to nothingness. the straps are getting torn from too much walking in HK. sigh sigh.

Thursday was my off day. i finally got the chance to go back camp to retrieve my pink ic after a 3 mths hiatus! caught up with the peeps and it was nice to know tt some things still haven change. the surroundings, their dislike for Lady Armstrong, csm and his car with the ALL WISHES MUST COME TRUE decal, seeing Peisiang with his green bag and short haircut, seeing Daren and Zhengshen still the best buddies in the world, how ah ho and the canteen auntie still remembers me and charges me only $2 for my rice. of cos there were changes, like the new BSO and the new OC. but it was a trip down memory lane. i had lunch with Shorn, George, Zhengwei, Ivan(A Spec), and Zhilong.

me, dearest understudy Mr Foo, and Peisiang.

Darren, me , Zheng shen.

i kinda miss camp life, to tell u the truth. at least for tt few hours i was back. community living is all about friendship and taking care of one another, looking after each other's back. i miss that. i regret not taking my job less seriously, easy come easy go. i could have had more fun. i could have interacted with the gang more. now, i can only hope tt the work i've done paved a smooth road for the gang. somehow nothin on my COP cept "very good" for conduct made me think if it was all worthwhile. i should have handled work and play with more...coolness, for lack of a better word.

i headed for Tanya Chua's showcase + autograph session afterwards.

i wasnt allowed to snip a picture during the show. there's this woman whom i'm guessin is part of her entourage was so rude when askin us not to take any pictures. she had a hostile and condescending tone. and the NP ushers are rather inapt too. despite the large committee, they were not very audience friendly either.
anyway the show. it was great. she wore yellow heels tt were so attention grabbing. she started with "beautiful love", followed by a set of acoustic numbers beginning with "stranger", which almost had me cryin my eyes out. she made me feel excited bout learnin the guitar again. and after reading bout her on Life!, it's not hard to see tt she's really gettin some serious star factor there. confidence, in another word.

den it was ktv with MJ colleagues + Jiahui

Shawn tryin Jiahui's QB-esque coat.

Yiwen the Mosquito and Actually Ashley.

Saturday. uniSIM orientation. it's a half day thingie. rather boring. went with Zif. it's good to have someone u know in the same course with u. but i'm confused about the place after seeing this..... i dunno whether to worry, or to smile at the "cool" reference.

i saw a cool cd shop at Shaw Towers!!! they sell clearance stuff, but they have a HUGE collection of old albums! and the prices are even better! $12.90 for a single disc album, $15.90 for double discs albums. i got Patti Smith's Horses album, and Joni Mitchell's Hejira, both of which i've been wanting to get! Patti Smith's album was damn cheap, and the Joni album was hard to find la. i was torn about gettin the Cranberries greatest hits, but i decided not to after burnin my pocket in HK. i'm eating grass now la.

den i went to Bin's recommended cd shop upstairs and found more great stuff tt i want...but no $$$! damn.

i head to Keay's place for movie marathon after that. shopped at Parkway Parade for a while when Keay finally appeared and shocked the hell out of me

he's sportin fashionable long hair and a moustouche. i asked him y he didnt shave and had greasy hair. he said he's tryin to look rugged. i told him "u look like 30 la. not 13". haha...tt bummer's been watching too much dvds!!

so anyway readers pls dun spread this ard. i'll be shot. ironic how my first picture of him alone turned out to be this. haha. so he treated me recommended fried kway teow and dim sum from Marine Parade as promised.

we caught(or rather, I caught. cos he's DOTA-ing for 2 and fell asleep halfway thru the last):
-Shaun of the Dead (quite funny. a spoof on Dawn Of The Dead)
-A History Of Violence (a lil disappointed after all the buzz. William Hurt was only ok. Viggo was good. Maria Bello was good too)
- V for Vendetta (great film! poetic and full of political agenda. thought provokin. the kiss bet Nat and V was freakily funny. V cld have used more body language, thou it might undermine his character as too flashy instead. Nat wasnt great, jus ok.but nice haircut)
-Napolean Dynamite (i initially wanted Date Movie, but Keay recommended this, which i lovelovelove! this is hilarious la! cant help laughin at Napolean even from the beginning. it got a lil monotonous towards the middle, but the final Jamiroqui dance saved the day. haha. )

i slept for only 3 hrs and had to rush to work. it's a zonked out day cos it's the last day of business before we close for renovation. lots of packin and seemingly endless moving of goods. dusty+physically tiring. it's been a while since i've done smthin so physical. we worked till 1.30am before i reach home at 2. the taxi uncle kept talkin to me bout Msia dvds. he even asked if my shop sells blue films.

here's a look.

Shawn posing as some....fighter?!

Shawn and Ash with the remains.

7-11 supper outside Causeway after a tiring night. random site beneath random lamp-post.

Today
i slept till 12 noon today. and wat bliss i felt. the weather and empty queen-size bed made it all the more sweet. i agreed to Susan's proposal. not of marriage. Susan needs someone taller =). to head this yr's prom tt is. it's gonna be a challenge. i'd prob be faced with tons of stumbling blocks. i jus hope tt in the end, it's a great show. with so much at stake, it scares me. but i felt if there's anytime i can make a difference, this is it. i jus hope the outcome is befitting of this opportunity.

chill out with the MJ gang in town. Cuppage pool was fun. i haven played since...sec school?! haha. but unlike Mosquito, at least i didnt perform suicide by hitting the black ball. haha.

an intentional shot of the mosquito armpit.

caught. unintentionally. sprawling.

Shawn. "dead-fish face."

mosquito. "i told u, u're a rebel!"

and here goes my first official post. a new beginning i hope.

and The Fugees on YouTube is jus driving me crazy. where did all the rappin trios go? there sld be thousands of wannabes following their footsteps when they sound so goooooddd. Lauryn Hill is irrestitable. not to mention, that style! that voice! thou less crisp at the reunion, but still great.

=)
